About
I'm Joel, a senior at Rice University studying Computer Science and Statistics. I grew up in Sulphur Springs, a small town in East Texas, and I'll be starting as a software engineer in San Francisco this July.
I'm interested in backend systems, infrastructure, and hard tech. I'm drawn to problems that require thinking carefully about performance, reliability, and scale.
Outside of work, I play guitar, dance salsa and bachata, lift, and spend a lot of time listening to music. I have also been getting into board games recently.
